I am a fully accredited Breathworks Mindfulness teacher and have been practicing meditation for over 25 years, and mindfulness meditation in particular since 2015. I have found that having a regular meditation practice over the years has helped me to manage stress, anxiety and some of the symptoms relating to ulcerative colitis, which I’ve had since 2003. Since having a regular mindfulness meditation practice, I have found that it has positively changed and enhanced my life, particularly in response to parenting my two children, management of the UC and bereavement. Through my mindfulness teaching, I wish to share the many benefits of this extraordinary, yet simple way of being with others.
I am also currently a tutor supporting mature students studying foot healthcare. Previously, I was a secondary school science teacher and a youth worker. Having also worked for a number of NGOs, I have spent a large part of my working life raising awareness of and promoting human rights and environmental issues. I have a particular interest in working with children and young people to enable them to manage stress and anxiety in a healthier way.
In addition to my environmental science degree and teaching PGCE, I gained an ITEC diploma qualification in holistic massage in 2011 and I attended an 8-week MBCT course at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre in 2015.
I am accredited to run the Breathworks Mindfulness for Stress and Mindfulness for Health courses. I can offer bespoke workshops for a variety of organisations including businesses, educational establishments, charities and community groups, as well as 1:1 mindfulness coaching for individuals and couples (online or face to face).
